where can I get a youth grant to buy a sailing boat?
I am 13 and a very good sailor. I have done my courses and now would like to get my own boat, but can't afford it. Is there any organisation that gives grants for this kind of thing? Thanks! x
If you don't mind it being a very old boat, you can probably get one in poor condition very cheaply, then do it up yourself. After all, you have to start somewhere. Wander round the dinghy park at your local sailing club, look for boats that look abandoned, ask the club secretary whose they are, make 'em an offer.
Also, your local club may have club-owned boats that young members can sail – ask about that too.
Make friends with other kids that sail and have boats – I used to hang around the lake, then when the kids went home for lunch, I'd offer to look after their boat while they were away for an hour, and then sail for that hour.
If you've got th sailing bug, you won't let anything stop you.

IRELAND Sketches and MEVLEVI Ney Music
Some of my Drawing and Watercolour Sketches from Ireland with Mevlevi Ney Music.デッサン
You can think that This Music and My Sketches are not revelant but as Mevlana has said :
“Come, come again, whoever you are, come!
Heathen, fire worshipper or idolatrous, come!
Come even if you broke your penitence a hundred times,
Ours is the portal of hope, come as you are.”
therefore This Mevlevi Music can be revelant with everyone and everything…
Mevlana Celaleddin was born on 30 September 1207 in Balkh in present day Afghanistan and He died on 17 December 1273 in KONYA in present day TURKEY.
Mevlana also says :
“I HAVE FIVE THINGS TO SAY…..
Five things to give into your grace..
FIRST : When I was apart from You , this World did not exist nor any other
SECOND :Whatever I was looking for
was always You..
THIRD : Why Did I ever learn to count to
Three ???
…………….
ONLY YOU
Only you I choose among the entire world.
Is it fair of you
letting me be unhappy?
My heart is a pen in your hand.
It is all up to you
to write me sad or happy.
……………….

TRADITIONAL SAILING BOAT “GALWAY HOOKER”
The Galway Hooker is a traditional sailing boat used in Galway Bay off the west coast of Ireland.
The hooker was developed for the strong seas there. It is identified by the sail formation,
which is extremely distinctive and quite beautiful. It consisted of a single mast with a main sail and two foresails.
Traditionally, the boat is black (being coated in pitch) and the sails are a dark red-brown.
“ABOUT the CONNACHT”
Con McCann ( well known boatman and musician ) restored veteran hooker Connacht at Kinvara , Aug.1987 .
On wednesday June 28th 1989 , The Connacht sailed from Portaferry bound north to Carrickfergus ..later Roundstone..
the weather blew up strong north west and a faint mayday call was picked up in Liverpool identifying the Connacht as sinking but radio was cut before completion of the message.
…The searchers located the body of Audrey Cannon , a broken tiller ….but no trace of Con McCann or CONNACHT……..
