boating in sardinia whats possible?

I am thinking of having a trip on a 35" boat that is stored in Sardinia. What are the boating options around there? Is it possible and desirable in that size boat to go from Sardinia accross to mainland Italy?
I am thinking of having a trip on a 36 foot unseeker rapallo boat that is stored in Sardinia. What are the boating options around there? Is it possible and desirable in that size boat to go from Sardinia across to mainland Italy?

I just want to work out how hard it is to get to mainland.

Honestly, I don't know if I'd even consider going anywhere in a 35 inch boat. I think it might be just a little too small for any wind on the water and the accommodations would be a little tight for most humans.

However, it's about 200 nautical miles due east to reach the mainland. If the seas are calm you should be able to make the trip if the fuel economy allows it. Course you could go north to Corsica, refuel and then head towards Italy and down the cost where the trip across the Med would be shorter.

ADDED COMMENT: 200 nautical miles is equivalent to 230 miles. The Rappalo carries 200 gallons of fuel. You would probably be travelling at 25 – 30 mph and burning approx 25-30 gal/hour. It would take you 7.5 – 9 hours to cross. At 25 gals per hour that would mean 187.5 gallons consumed and at 30 mph you'd burn 270 and this exceeds the 200 gallons the boat carries. Even at 187.5 gal used you would be pushing the safety envelope big time and not have much in reserve if you ran into foul weather.

Go north and then cut over…far safer!
